  • RN Northern Beaches Hospital

  • NSWNMA Councillor since 2019

  • NSWNMA Branch Secretary/Delegate

I’ve been nursing since I qualified as a General Nurse in 1984.  I qualified as a Midwife in 1986. I trained as an ambulance paramedic in 1998. We moved to Australia from Zimbabwe in 2000 and are very grateful to be here.

I’ve been with the Union since 2001 and held posts as Secretary at RNSH and Branch President at Mona Vale Hospital. I’ve been part of the development of the Northern Beaches Hospital where I work in Operating Theatres. I’m currently Branch President at Northern Beaches Hospital, Sydney. I love nursing, I’m passionate about making the place better for staff and patients. Ratios will achieve that for us.

I’ve been on Council since March 2021 and enjoy the challenges and being part of the wheels that run the largest union in the state. I feel I bring the challenges of the Private Hospital system to the discussion and am motivated to keep the employers accountable. I was part of a successful negotiating team for the new Healthscope EBA.  We recently challenged the Ministry of Health over the Covid payment and won the payment for the public/private hospital.
