  • President, NSW Nurses and Midwives’ Association since 2018

I’m honoured and privileged to have served this Association for the last 14 years as Councillor, the last 4 of those as President of the NSWNMA and the ANMF NSW Branch and more recently President of the RPAH Branch. I’ve seen our union flourish under stable leadership, sensible financial decisions and sound governance. As a part of the new leadership team, I will ensure continued sound management of our Association.

Working in the Public health system for over 20 years I’ve seen the destruction of our health system due to inadequate funding and a lack of care or understanding from politicians.  Only by standing up and finding our voice can we gain a seat at the decision-making table. My position as a Midwifery Manager lends a unique view to council; understanding not only hospital management but also having experience in Human Resources, policy making and finance.

I’ve had the privilege of working in Neonatal Intensive Care, Gynae/oncology, and as a Mental Health Nurse; inpatient and community. With over twenty years’ experience, I’ve gained valuable experiences that helps me represent broad sections of our membership.

I am proud to stand with the Candish/ Whaites team for Unity, Power and Progress.

For unity, power, progress vote for
the Candish/Whaites team!
