I am standing for re - election as a NSWNMA and ANMF branch Councillor.

I am a registered nurse and have worked in the aged care sector since 1987.

I have witnessed the impacts of reckless government policies affecting the care of our vulnerable residents in residential aged care facilities and the moral injuries inflicted on aged care staff. Our aged care workers did not need a royal commission to prove that. We live it every shift. With the COVID pandemic, chronic understaffing has gotten worse.

We have a precarious aged care system where our older Australians and the aged care workforce have been devalued.

I will continue to fight fiercely and steadfastly on behalf of aged care nurses. I truly believe that to have a quality aged care system, the aged care workforce need to be valued.

I also believe that we must value and protect our public health system and the nurses and midwives that work in the system.
